ROKA Inaugural Product Launch: Safe-Pak Cars
In 1973 the first fully enclosed autorack railroad cars were designed by competing manufacturers to address the problem of increasing vandalism to new automobiles in transit. The first production fully enclosed autorack railroad cars were delivered in late 1974 and early 1975. The Whitehead & Kales company design, named Safe-Pak, were delivered to the ATSF, CP, CRR, FEC, NW, SSW, UP and WP. The Safe-Pak autorack cars were in service on US and Canadian railroads until the late 1990s.
Never before offered as a high fidelity injected molded plastic Ready to Run (RTR) model, these highly detailed HO scale Safe-Pak models have KaDee #5 couplers, free rolling metal wheel sets and meticulously researched prototypically accurate era specific paint schemes.
All ROKO Prototype Models RTR products embody a level of historical accuracy only possible through relentless, thorough research.
These limited run of HO Scale Safe-Pak models are now available for purchase.
